The countdown for the reopening of Galleria Alberto Sordi is about to end: soon, both the citizens and tourists of Rome will be able to appreciate the renewed look of this unique place. Thanks to an ambitious redevelopment project, the Galleria will appear as a refined blend of history and modernity. LESS STORES, MORE QUALITY (AND MORE SUSTAINABILITY)

Less is more, as they say. Therefore, upon reopening, the number of stores inside Galleria Alberto Sordi will decrease from 27 to 15: an apparent downsizing that is, in fact, aimed at offering more quality to customers and visitors. Major international brands will have their retail outlets inside the Galleria, making it their new home in the heart of the Capital.

The reduction in the number of stores also aligns with a greater focus on sustainability. The main goal of the redevelopment project is to ensure that the modernization of the spaces protects the planet by reducing environmental impact.

Despite being a building with a history that began over 150 years ago – and therefore characterized by numerous structural constraints – the Galleria is aiming for BREEAM In-Use certification, which assesses the sustainability of buildings. To achieve this, a series of innovative solutions have also been adopted to reduce CO2 emissions and control energy consumption.

A new light for a living room open to everyone

In terms of energy consumption, the lighting system of Galleria Alberto Sordi has been completely revamped to protect the environment while making the space more inviting. LED projectors and wall lights will ensure comfortable illumination for the Galleria at any time of the day.

Natural light will also contribute to the illumination of the Galleria, which - like its visitors - will be welcomed more seamlessly thanks to the removal of the current access glass panels. This significant innovation, part of the redevelopment project, will transform Galleria Alberto Sordi into a more open, inviting, and enjoyable space for everyone. Residents, shoppers, and visitors will appreciate the view of the Galleria from the outside and feel encouraged to walk through it, admiring its elegance from within.
